The Bourjois Boutique

Finally managed to time a trip to London in with an event! Yesterday me and the girls had a day in London for fashion week and with the rest we managed to squeeze into the day, we also went out to the Bourjois Boutique in Shoreditch.

The boutique was held in Beach Blanket Babylon, over 4 days during London Fashion Week. Luckily we got there for the last day so went along.
We were there for Cher Lloyd being interviewed by Jameela Jamil for T4.

We took full advantage of what was available. Nails were done, make up was applied and of course we got some Bourjois products! It was a massive 65% off the make up, with 2 for £9, 3 for £12 or 4 for £14.
I picked up another Healthy Mix Serum (which has an RRP of £9.99 alone!), which is probably my favourite foundation and the radiance concealer which I'm about to try out.

Rumour has it Olivia Palermo was to be making an appearance shortly but we shot off to Somerset House before she arrived.

The Pop Up Boutique was such a good event and I'm glad it was on for a few days so I had chance to attend. Perfect girly haven.

Thanks Bourjois!

Batiste Cherry

The ever expanding Batiste range has another scent to boast. This time, in the form of the fruitful Batiste Cherry.

The scent is that level of Batiste where you can definitely smell it, but it isn't overpowering. It's a very artificial cherry scent, and far more perfumed than fresh fruit. If you happen to have tried Herbal Essence's Beautiful Ends, then it's something in that region. For those can't be bothered days, people won't even tell as the scent is so similar to a full blown shampoo and condition.

To go hand in hand with my cherry scented locks, I was gifted this adorable Cath Kidston cherry print umbrella! It is so cute, now hoping for rain so I can parade around in a little cherry bubble.

Batiste Cherry is available now
200ml £2.99

V Day.

Me and the other half are very on and off with Valentine's day. Some years we go all out, other years it's just a meal which is like any other day.
Since we were separated by Uni life this year, I got given my gift in January, stapled shut and awaiting the 14th.

Knowing my love of all things mushy and Valentine's sell out - I was surprised with a gorgeous bouquet as well. Complete with lilies, my absolute favourite.
The boy done good.

Seeing as my boyfriend has a bit of an issue with fragrances...

*Insert picture of his out of control collection*

... He has channelled his fragrance addiction into me. He gifted Jean Paul Gautier Madame, which has the coolest bottle.

As I said in my Valentine's Nails post, me and my best did the M&S deal and had the nicest meal for two. The Raspberry Panna Cotta was a particular winner.

And it's done.
Been and gone for another year.

I hope you all had a good day, whether it was Valentine's or just another Tuesday!!

Quickie Valentine.

Thought I'd better get this up before V-day just in case any of you are inspired. I made an attempt to copy Love Maegan's Valentine's nail tutorial this evening. And for such a spontaneous, quick job, I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out.

Two coats of OPI Dulce de Leche, followed by a sort of 'x' motion to create the heart, using a rogue Calvin Klein polish in Mad Pink. I chose my thumb nails to put some extra detail of glitter, just going over the pink with OPI I Lily Love You.

There is an in depth tutorial on Love Maegan but it really is quite simple.

Despite both me and my best friend being in long term relationships, we'll be dining with each other tomorrow.
We're going for the Marks & Spencers 'Two Can Dine for £20', such a good deal. Almost certain it's better than the none Valentine's version (2 starters, mains, sides, desserts and a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates). I have the gift from my boyfriend sealed, but ready to open since he can't come visit me at Uni, forward planning!
Will then be drowning my missing boyfriend sorrows with the girls, watching The Vow on Wednesday - packets of tissues at the ready! All in all, not a bad deal.

Anyone got any plans to make me jealous?

What's in my Bag?

I figured a much needed update was necessary on this topic. The flurry of YouTube videos seems to have dwindled a little on this topic but I still manually hunt them down - is that a little wrong?

So this is your chance to have a nosey into Louis. Currently dreaming of the Louis Vuitton Neverfull but for now, the Speedy 35 is my faithful.

the feminine Hello Kitty pouch//pens//necessary lolly//necessary Nerds//Camera & Cath Kidston pouch//Michael Kors purse//ASOS gloves//Ray Ban Wayfarers//The Body Shop Hemp hand cream//Bloomingdales make up bag.

After struggling to decide on what purse to get, I randomly came across this in Fenwicks and fell in love. It has so much room for everything which I never see in designer purses.

Tissues//Sleek powder//mint Carmex//Maybelline Color Sensational lipgloss//NYC Lip Slider//Burt's Bees cuticle creme//Bourjois lipgloss//MAC 'Love Nectar' gloss//Maybelline lipgloss

Another item I fell in love with, the make up bag. Love the Little Brown Bag concept, so obviously jumped on this. Considering all I ever reapply are lip products and powder, I figured that's all I should carry around. Instead of my old any eventuality make up bag, which was just a bit pointless!

And there you have a slight insight into my personal life. Intrigued?!
Who else among you have done one of these posts? Obviously still among my favourite posts to read!

Lush Sweet Lips Scrub

Introductions matter. So let me start by saying that I could smell this forever and as I get to lick it off my lips... Even better!

The Lush Lip Scrubs are always something I've passed on simply because you can make it yourself easily enough. But obviously with the Lush staff being as they are, I was lured into it at the checkout. The pink one was recommended but I opted for Sweet Lips.

Mmm.. Vanilla and chocolate!
I use this every morning before applying my make up. Smooth a little all over my lips and around the edges, get the excess off then apply some lip balm. That way it has a fresh base for the balm to sink into while I put my face on.

Considering my lips are normally awful in such cold weather, this little addition to my routine has done wonders. I have the horrible habit of picking at any dry skin on my lips and while it doesn't get rid of it every single day for the whole day, it does the majority.

You need a teeny bit as it seems to multiply the more you scrub. It's £4.95 for the pot. Which I for can see me lasting for a long time.

While you can make something similar yourself, this is definitely the better option. Less mess, less fuss and less oil all over your face.

Any more lip tips?

Emma Stone

Hello again bloggy blog! I feel like I haven't blogged in an age. In reality it's nearing a month, but even being away from blogging for seven days feels so much longer in internet world.

I seem to have developed a worrying obsession with Emma Stone. I noticed her in Superbad but can't say she had an affect on me until Easy A. That film is now one of my all time favourites and made me fall in love.

I thought I had it bad with Mila Kunis but this is just another level.

All sourced from Tumblr

Miss Stone is just so charismatically funny and charming. I must have watched Easy A about 10 times in the few weeks I've had it, still isn't getting old.

It's definitely a must watch, Emma Stone or not - although I'm pretty sure she makes it - so I hope you've all seen it! While I'm at it I'll plug Crazy, Stupid, Love as well which I impulse bought yesterday. Such a good film, and for a generic romantic comedy has quite a few twists (using that term lightly) towards the end.

I have a few post ideas coming together, so hopefully my presence will be less than sporadic for the foreseeable future!

Lily Loves Lola

I'm sure you've all heard of Victoria at Lily Loves Lola - and if you haven't I suggest you open a new tab now! - just as I'm sure you've noticed that she's recently branched out into crafts.

The Lily Loves Lola blog now has a shop extension selling cutesy friendship type bracelets, and every now and then a chunky knit. Victoria was kind enough to send me three of my favourite charms. I was only actually expecting one, but after listing my favourites she wrapped them into a cute little bundle, with an even cuter business card, and sent them on.

I chose the silver peace sign, tiny silver star and tiny silver cross which I thought complimented each other well. I've now got my eye on the wish charm bracelet, which is new to me!

Each of the friendship bracelets are priced at £2.50 each, with five different colour choices of thread. There are also chunkier charms, silver bracelets and earrings currently available on the Lily Loves Lola store (also on Etsy as well).

I've placed an order from Victoria before, delivery is fast and cutely packaged. Although I've never had any problems, I would be confident in saying that she will deal with them as best she can to make your experience perfect.

Lily Loves Lola was actually one of the very first blogs I ever followed and I'm still an avid reader today. Having met Victoria in person, there isn't a better person I'd like to support!
So go shop, read, tweet and Facebook her if you haven't already!

Aussie More, More, More!

Coming back from Uni before Christmas, I was greeted with a massive bottle of Aussie Miracle Moist and a blow up version too!

Yes, Aussie have listened to what you have to say and have blown up (geddit?) their bottles. You now get 500ml of shampoo and 400ml of conditioner. Not quite sure why the conditioner didn't get a little bit more expansion as I always finish conditioner a good few washes before the shampoo anyway! Anyone else?

Us angels were given the challenge of seeing just how many washes we could get out of these enormous bottles. I've been tweeting my progress along with #AussieMore. The more creative the better, and it's at this point I have to say, this challenge was made for Lauren who has impressed me with how many different styles she's squeezed into the challenge!

I'm not the most creative with my hair and having my new waver on hand, that has been my go to look over the festive period.

I've just completed wash 25 and my conditioner is finished! I still have a fair few washes left in the shampoo by how it feels, and I'm backed up with the next which I received from Aussie's Holly as a little Christmas gift!

I've been following everyone else's progress and love seeing how creative some people have been getting. But, creative or not, my hair is smelling luscious every day and is feeling silky soft.

What are your most creative hair styles?

Babyliss Waving Wand

I've been on a mission to find the perfect hair tool since I found out what a hair tool was. Having really thin, naturally straight hair creates quite the challenge to find something to keep curls/waves in tact for longer than a couple of hours.

The Babyliss Waving Wand is nearing perfection and after seeing it on Vivianna Does Makeup I tracked it down in the Boots sale for around £20.

Unlike other wands I've used, this barrel is an squashed oval shape, which is what gives the wave more than a curl. Some pieces initially hold a curl but it drops almost immediately. There is no clamp which makes it a lot quicker and easier to wave.

It has four heat settings, of which I use the highest, 200 °C. It heats up just as fast as GHD straighteners, it's ready to use almost immediately. The red light will flash then remain constant once it's fully heated.

This is the nearest I've come to the beachy waves I crave. It still doesn't have great staying power, but the looser the curl, the less it's going to last! I section my hair off to do it in layers and it takes about 10 minutes for my whole head to have waves, but I pretty much always go back in to add more waves throughout so it bumps it up to 15 minutes.

Here's the type of thing you can expect;

For some reason my right hand side is always significantly neater and looks a lot more done. I guess practice will eventually make perfect and I'm just trying out all the different heat settings to find which works less.

Regardless, this hair tool is going to be in my collection for a lot longer than others that haven't measured up to my picky high standards.
